hums is a new project by Chiaki Yamamoto, and me, Demonic Sweaters. I met Chiaki though our mutual friend Satoshi Inoue, whom I collaborate with in his project Echoscape. Satoshi moved back to Japan a few years ago, but he told me his friend was moving close to the area and we should get together.

Chiaki and her husband Osamu came to visit Victor and I one weekend, and at the end of the night, Chiaki and I played a bit of music. She was playing guitar and singing and I played my new fretless bass. I really liked how it sounded, and suggested we work on a recording project.

Once Chiaki got back to Long Island, she started working on some new songs and would send me the parts remotely. I would ad my parts and we'd talk a bit about the direction. We decided to focus on two songs and release a single.

The result is what you see here, and I'm really proud of these two tracks. The songs were both written by Chiaki, and produced, mixed and mastered by me.
