about

Recorded between 2004 - 2005, Fireant is an album with great variety and styles. This is one of the only solo albums aside from Unlimited Dada where I sing on many of the tracks.

Mostly everything was recorded in Englewood Florida at my first home studio, The Anthill. Which is why this site was called Anthill Recordings in the first place. The opening track however was actually recorded on 4track back in Hollywood Florida in 1997.

It's a pretty guitar heavy album, but also dips into some areas of synth pop and new wave. I use a vocoder or pitch transposer on the first two vocal tracks but you finally hear my natural voice on "Omega Does 40".

Much of this album was recorded when I was first trying to get sober. I recorded about half of it (mostly the calm sounding stuff) while I was sober then the more aggressive sounding music after I fell off the wagon. This LP was being completed at the same time as the Girls Named Lourdis EP.

Once both of those were finally completed is when the journey of Manasota started.
